ST. ANNE’S OUTREACH PROJECTS AND INTENTIONAL GIVING ….
HOW DOES IT HAPPEN?
Each year when the church budget is established and we as a congregation vote to approve that budget there is an amount set aside in the budget for Outreach. These resources are intended for the St. Anne’s Outreach Ministries to support the Outreach projects we do each year as well as various Outreach Ministries we partner with who provide for those who are “LOST OR IN NEED”. At each Outreach team meeting we pray for Our Lord’s guidance and then review the suggestions we receive for Outreach projects and the requests for help that we receive from ministry partners. Monthly, but at least quarterly, we vote on those projects and requests and make distributions of efforts and resources accordingly.
As examples, this quarter our congregation collected contents for and assembled 150 hygiene bags for Everlasting Life Ministries for their overnight warming shelter in center city Allentown. We are currently collecting for and our children will assemble, as a service project, comfort bags for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation (www.pcfweb.org). We will be providing for, cooking and serving dinner for as many as 50-60 folks at Daybreak (www.lehighchurches.org). We are also making distributions from our budget to Church World Services (info@cwsglobal.org) and The Lehigh Conference of Churches (www.lehighchurches.org).
We encourage you to visit the websites shown above to learn more about where your resources and support go to and what each of these worthwhile ministries do to support those who are “LOST OR IN NEED”. Your prayers and generous contribution of efforts, abilities and resources ARE making a difference.
Remember, it is only as we pray and follow the path of our faith that we learn to reach out in word and action and only then are we truly an Outreach Community of Faith.
