Outreach Ministries

Well, it actually it is not hiding at all. I know we are all suffering from an absence of Nancy Gordon and her episodes of, “The Soap Opera of Little Blue and the Blue Box Family”. However, the Blue Box is not hiding and the need to support UTO (United Thank Offering) is just as important as it always has been. While reviewing the Outreach calendar and timing of various events we felt that during the time of much anticipated vacations and other summer activities it might not be the best time for this campaign. So, you will begin hearing more on the change as we get into our next calendar year. However, for this year over the next two weeks the UTO envelopes will be available at the rear of the church and under the Outreach bulletin board in the parish hall. We encourage all who wish to contribute to this very important ministry work (see UTO story below) to make use of these envelopes to make your offering. At the Diocesan Convention each year all of the churches present these UTO offerings during the Convention Eucharistic Celebration.

Please be generous as you always are as we reach out to spread the Word and share a little bit of our love with those who need our help most.

The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, individuals are invited to embrace and deepen a personal daily spiritual discipline of gratitude. UTO encourages people to notice the good things that happen each day, give thanks to God for those blessings and make an offering for each blessing using a UTO Blue Box. UTO is entrusted to receive the offerings, and to distribute the 100% of what is collected to support innovative mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and Provinces of the Anglican Communion.

Thanks to all who gave the gift of life on June 9.  Our next blood drive will be Saturday, September 29 here at St. Anne’s.  Remember, we are helping not only others with this need but also guaranteeing availability for our congregation in the future.

Thanks for giving the gift of life!

I lost track of how many years St. Anne’s has been preparing meals for Daybreak (which is part of Lehigh County Conference of Churches), but I do know that getting to meet and serve some very wonderful people continues to be a true blessing.  ~Nancy Gordon

Giving is always a joyous experience!

Daybreak is a Lehigh County Conference of Churches program that reaches out to individuals who are active in or have  successfully completed treatment for mental health, HIV/AIDS, and/or drug/alcohol abuse. The program provides life skills training, talk time, membership, and 3 meals daily.
