Announcement concerning reopening St. Anne’s for worship.

Text of video announcement:

Hello and peace be with you. 1 Peter 1:6 There is cause for rejoicing here. You may for a time have to suffer the distress of many trials, but this is so that your faith, which is more precious than the passing splendor of fire-tried gold, may by its genuineness lead to praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ appears.

WE HAVE ENTERED THE YELLOW PHASE IN PA IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT COVID19 REMAINS JUST AS CONTAGEOUS AS EVER. PEOPLE CAN BE NON-SYMPTOMATIC AND STILL SPREAD THE DISEASE. THERE IS NO VACCINE. WHILE 80% OF THOSE WHO CONTRACT THE DISEASE ARE YOUNGER, 80% OF THOSE WHO DIE FROM THE DISEASE ARE OLDER. WE HAVE SUBMITTED OUR PLAN TO IMPLEMENT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OPENING TO THE DIOCESE AND IT WAS APPROVED LATE LAST WEEK.

BEGINNING SUNDAY, WE WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE 25 PEOPLE AT OUR 10AM SERVICE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE STREAM OUR SERIVCES FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. THE CHURCH HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED AND WE NEED TO MAINTAIN THIS LEVEL OF CLEANLINESS. ANYONE WISHING TO ATTEND THE SERVICE MUST OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING PRACTICES TO ASSURE SAFETY:

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, CALL THE OFFICE. IF NO ONE IS AVAILABLE, LEAVE A MESSAGE. WE WILL NEED YOUR NAME AND THE NAMES OF OTHERS IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD WHO WILL ATTEND. WE NEED NAMES TO KEEP A LIST FOR CONTACT TRACING. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR OTHERS. WHEN WE REACH OUR LIMIT OF 25, WE WILL PLACE NAMES ON THE LIST FOR THE NEXT WEEK. PLEASE ARRIVE A LITTLE BEFORE 10AM AND GO DIRECTLY INTO THE CHURCH. ALL MUST HAVE A MASK/FACE COVERING TO ATTEND. PEWS WILL BE MARKED WHERE SEATING IS AVAILABLE. MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING. SEATING WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE WHERE INDICATED. THIS KEEPS SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WILL ALLOW US TO FOCUS CLEANING IN THE PLACES USED. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO REMAIN AT YOUR SEAT FOR THE WHOLE TIME. A BULLETIN WILL BE AT THE DESIGNATED SEATING PLACES. AFTER THE SERVICE, EITHER TAKE IT WITH YOU OR DROP IT IN THE RECYCLING BASKET BY THE DOOR. THEY WILL NOT BE REUSED. AFTER THE SERVICE, WE ASK THAT EVERYONE LEAVE THE BUILDING, KEEPING DISTANCE. THERE WILL BE NO COFFEE HOUR. IF YOU WISH TO SOCIALIZE, PLEASE DO SO IN THE PARKING LOT, KEEPING PROPER DISTANCE. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO GIVE COMMUNION AT THIS TIME. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO HAVE SINGING AT THIS TIME.

IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE NOT READY OR DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH WE MUST GATHER, PLEASE CONTINUE TO WORSHIP VIA THE LIVESTREAM.

WE WILL NEED A VOLUNTEER TO BE AN USHER AND A FEW PEOPLE TO CLEAN AFTER THE SERVICE.

THERE ARE VERY GOOD, MEDICALLY AND SCIENTIFICALLY BASED REASONS FOR THE PRACTICES WE MUST OBSERVE. WE WILL OBSERVE ALL RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CDC, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, AND THE DIOCESE OF BETHLEHEM. MATERIAL RELEVENT TO WORSHIP WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

WE WILL OBSERVE THEM OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF LOVE AND CONCERN FOR EACH OTHER. PLEASE CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

Fr. Don Schaible
