St. Anne’s From the Grange Hall to a Strong, Active Community of Faith …. 1966 -2015
St. Anne’s began with a handful of dedicated Episcopalians meeting in the Grange Hall in 1966. We have grown to a congregation of hundreds in our current building centered in the western growth area of the Lehigh Valley.
Our church is surrounded by hundreds of growing developments, numerous small to large shopping centers, and hundreds of small to Fortune 500 corporations and corporate headquarters. One such facility is Air Products Corporate Headquarters where a number of our parishioners work just blocks from the church.
Our facility consists of the sanctuary, parish hall, kitchen, administrative wing, education wing, and garage on six and a half acres. We are situated on a major road with great visibility and just off a major artery of Route 222.
We are home to not only our congregation but also a nursery school, numerous organizations using our facility and in our innovative outreach a congregation of New Beginnings Here and Now that uses our facilities after our regular Sunday services and activities.
For a more detailed History of St. Anne’s you can read “From Grange Hall to Growth Mode – An Informal, Anecdotal History” by Arnold Newman at this link: St Anne’s History 1966-2011. (This documents the history of St. Anne’s through 2011. We hope in the near future to have another congregant continue Arnold’s work to bring our history to the current day.)
